Volunteer For Us

As a Citizen Advice volunteer you don’t need any particular qualifications or experience as we have our own comprehensive accredited training programme that will give you all the skills you need to deliver a high quality service to our clients. You won’t be left alone after you have trained as there will always be experienced advisers and managers to offer regular feedback, support and assessment to enable you to work effectively in your role.

All sorts of people are Citizen’s Advice volunteers and you will need to be good at listening, be able to work as part of a team, have good written and spoken English and be comfortable with maths, be open minded and non-judgemental and most importantly enjoy helping people.

Would you like to do something useful and worthwhile?

Have you considered becoming a Citizen’s Advice volunteer? You do not need any particular qualification’s or experience as we have our own comprehensive accredited training programme that will provide you with all the skills you will need to deliver a high quality service to our clients. We provide a fully supported service and there will always be managers and supervisors to offer regular feedback, support and assessment to enable you to be effective in your role.

You will need to have excellent communication and IT skills and need to commit to a minimum of 6 hours per week, ideally for a minimum period of 12 months and be prepared to undertake our accredited training programme. You will also need to be willing to commit to our policies on discrimination, impartiality and confidentiality.
